Okay, so Todd Phillips‘ “Due Date,” opening this Friday, wasn’t quite the gut-busting comedy we were hoping for, but that doesn’t matter because in about seven months, the director will get another stab at the apple when he drops “The Hangover 2.”
The currently filming comedy came under a lot of scrutiny recently when Mel Gibson was temporarily cast in a cameo role, only to be replaced by Liam Neeson after members of the cast and crew expressed reservations about working with the actor. With that controversy now behind them, filming goes on, and Jamie Chung (“Sorority Row,” “Sucker Punch“) has joined the cast, playing the new fiancée of Stu (Ed Helms) who dumped his beau Melissa at the end of the previous film.
Bradley Cooper, Zack Galifianakis and Justin Bartha are all back reprising their roles and the film will hit theaters on May 26, 2011.
