Watch: Terry Gilliam’s Short Film ‘The Legend Of Hallowdega’

Produced by AMP Energy Juice and @radical.media Terry Gilliam‘s short film “The Legend Of Hallowdega” is about as good as you might expect a film backed by a beverage company and a branding agency to be.

Starring David Arquette and Justin Kirk as well as race car drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Darrell Waltrip, the mockumentary is put together as a fictional taping of the “World Of The Unexplained,” an “Unsolved Mysteries” styled program probing the supernatural. Led by the show’s host, played by Kirk, the eighteen minute short investigates whether or not the Talladega race track is haunted and then explains all the mysterious doings with an absolutely terrible gag explanation. In fact, much of this feels sort of tossed off in a written-on-a-napkin sort of way, so don’t be going into this with any sort of expectations.

The short debuted last night with the first chapter being shown on ESPN prior to the start of the AMP Energy Juice 500 at Talladega Superspeedway (naturally). You can watch the short below and then hit the official website for some behind the scenes footage if you’re curious.
