Though their summer film series at Hollywood Forever Cemetery may be coming to a close, Cinespia still has a few surprises left up their sleeves for this fall. Presented by Amazon MGM Studios, the Los Angeles screening organization is proud to unveil their October line-up, which includes a 50th anniversary celebration of the original 1974 version of “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” (10/5), a 15th anniversary showing of “Coraline” (10/12), and “Trick ‘r Treat” (10/19). To close out the season, Cinespia will also be having an indoor Halloween screening of the original 1977 version of “Suspiria” from Dario Argento on October 31 at The Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles.

“What better way to embrace the spooky season than by watching horror classics under the stars at a cemetery?” said John Wyatt, founder of Cinespia. “We’re also thrilled to return to The Orpheum for the second consecutive year, hosting our fans on Halloween night for a special screening of the original ‘Suspiria.’”

Saturday, October 5 – “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” (1974) 50th Anniversary Screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. 

You’ll go berserk for the horrifying classic that set the bar for what horror movies can be. Something devious is afoot when five teenagers find themselves face to face with a deadly rural family. A chainsaw of events unfolds in the greatest of classic horror cinema. See it in the cemetery if you dare!

Saturday, October 12 – “Coraline” 15th Anniversary Screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

15th Anniversary Celebration with LAIKA!  When young Coraline discovers a secret door in her house, she is surprised to find that it leads to an alternate version of her own life, where cats talk and her ‘other’ parents have buttons for eyes. It initially appears more fun than her existing life, but it soon becomes clear that this other world wants to keep her forever. Bring the family and friends for a beloved spooktacular classic that’s a garden of the unexpected.

Saturday, October 19 – “Trick ‘r Treat” at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

You don’t know jack-o-lanterns until you’ve experienced the cult classic criss-cross of scary stories. Tricks are treats with fangs and thangs to make Halloween a scare a minute. From a principal with a bloody secret, to a prank that goes rank, cut up with a bundle of bloody good fun.

Thursday, October 31 – “Suspiria” (1977) at The Orpheum.

The original ‘Danse Macabre’ from visionary director Dario Argento! Something wicked this way comes in Argento’s Giallo magnum opus that is as beautiful as it is bewitching. Suzy (Jessica Harper) finds her admission to a famed ballet school comes with a prickly price. A cabinet of otherworldly wonders awaits her with bucketfuls of creepy crawlies and supernatural hysterics. The jewel-toned terrors come alive at for a night of color saturated scares. Party with us at our return to The Orpheum Theatre as we celebrate Halloween night spectral style.
