With a release date now set, there’s only a few months months to go until “The Killer Elite” hits theaters and marketing campaign is now underway.
Starring Jason Statham, Robert De Niro and Clive Owen the story follows the world’s most skilled special-ops agent (played by Statham, obviously) who comes out of self-imposed exile to put together a team to rescue his former mentor played by De Niro. They will face off against Owen who plays the villain and his cadre of baddies known under their sinister name “The Feather Men.” Collider has a first look picture from the film and it shows two dudes who haven’t quite learned how to hug it out.
Upstart distributors Open Road will release the film on September 23rd — check out the official synopsis below.
Based on a true story, Killer Elite races across the globe from Australia to Paris, London and the Middle East in the action-packed account of an ex-special ops agent (Jason Statham) who is lured out of retirement to rescue his mentor (Robert De Niro).
