Yes, we know. It’s been a blitzkrieg of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” marketing and hell, the movie doesn’t even come out for six months yet. But we’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited and we’ll take whatever bits and pieces we can for now in what is sure to be a huge campaign for the movie.
Following last week’s reveal of the controversial one-sheet that had Rooney Mara‘s boob (partially) covered up by the date of the film, a completely uncensored version has now landed with full nipple and safety pin in effect. This certainly won’t quell the debate from readers who are concerned about the character of Lisbeth Salander being overly sexualized but we’re mostly amazed that David Fincher is getting away with it. Back when he was dreaming up the concept for the poster, it seemed like a total longshot especially for prudish America (let’s not forget the whole Janet Jackson/Super Bowl fiasco) but it seems Sony are willing to go the extra mile for the dark film that will need to push hard to be a “Social Network“-sized hit.
“The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” opens on December 21st. Check out the full poster below. [IMP Awards]
