It’s like fairy tale movies for auteurs. Or something like that. “Margin Call” is coming, and just last night, George Clooney announced his own film about the 2008 bailout but before both of those, we’ll get Curtis Hanson‘s take on the subject with “Too Big To Fail.”
Starring William Hurt, Edward Asner, Billy Crudup, Paul Giamatti, Topher Grace, Matthew Modine, Cynthia Nixon, Bill Pullman, Tony Shalhoub and James Woods, the film is based on the book by Andrew Ross Sorkin and focuses on the few dramatic weeks that marked financial meltdown of 2008 and players big and small who were involved. There isn’t much to the teaser right now, acting more like a sneak preview of the extended cast of characters, but we have to say, it looks compelling even if the trailer is like that scene from “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” where all the numbers are reflecting back on Shia LaBeouf‘s earnest face.
Check out the spot below; “Too Big To Fail” premieres on May 23rd.
