Last month, it was reported that a number of actresses were screen-testing for the love interest role of Andromeda in the “Clash Of The Titans” sequel. Among the contenders listed at the time were “Captain America” star Hayley Atwell, Clemence Poesy (”In Bruges”), Janet Montgomery (”Black Swan”), Georgina Haig (”Wasted on the Young”) and Dominique McElligott (”Moon”) but a name recently linked as a candidate for a role in Zack Snyder‘s “Superman” has landed the gig instead.
Deadline reports that Rosamund Pike will play Andromeda in the Jonathan Liebesman directed film, taking over for Alexa Davalos who played the part in Louis Leterrier‘s “Clash Of The Titans.” She joins an intriguing mix of actors that currently includes Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Edgar Ramirez (“Carlos“), Toby Kebbell (“Dead Man’s Shoes“) and expected to return thesps Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes.
The first film was rounded criticized for the 3D post-production rush job, so let’s hope Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures learn their lesson this time around. Production on the film should be getting underway soon as it’s already pegged for a March 30, 2012 release date.
