New Pics & Official Synopsis For ’30 Minutes Or Less,’ ‘Bad Teacher’ & ‘Friends With Benefits’

Sony has kicked off the year releasing a batch of new stills and official synopses for some of their upcoming slate, including a trio of comedies we’re looking forward to.

First up is “Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer‘s “30 Minutes or Less” starring Jessie Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nick Swardson and Michael Peña and written by the Black List-approved Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan. A fresh pic is above and gives a pretty good idea of what we’re in for with the outrageous caper flick. The film opens on August 12th. Here’s the official synopsis:

In the action-comedy 30 Minutes or Less, Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With only a few hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, Chet (Aziz Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship.

Next up is the Jake Kasdan-directed “Bad Teacher” that boasts a promising ensemble, including Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Lucy Punch and John Michael Higgins, SNL alum Molly Shannon and Thomas Lennon. The premise is refreshingly original and we like the talent involved, so here’s hoping it delivers the goods with relish. The film opens June 17th, synopsis below:

Some teachers just don’t give an F. For example, there’s Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz). She’s foul-mouthed, ruthless, and inappropriate. She drinks, she gets high, and she can’t wait to marry her meal ticket and get out of her bogus day job. When she’s dumped by her fiancé, she sets her plan in motion to win over a rich, handsome substitute (Justin Timberlake) – competing for his affections with an overly energetic colleague, Amy (Lucy Punch). When Elizabeth also finds herself fighting off the advances of a sarcastic, irreverent gym teacher (Jason Segel), the consequences of her wild and outrageous schemes give her students, her coworkers, and even herself an education like no other.

And hey, there’s even more Justin Timberlake to be had as he is set to appear in the next effort from “Easy A” director Will Gluck. Starring Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Patricia Clarkson, Jenna Elfman, Richard Jenkins and Woody Harrelson, the film is a fuck buddy comedy that we hope offers a fresh spin on the suddenly popular genre. The film hits on July 22nd, synopsis below:

A young female headhunter (Mila Kunis) in New York convinces a potential recruit (Justin Timberlake) to accept a job in the Big Apple. Despite an attraction to each other, both realize they¹re everything they¹ve been running from in a relationship and decide to see what happens if they leave emotion out of it and keep it strictly physical.
