At least for today, it looks like the Oscar race is going to be closely fought between Darren Aronofsky‘s “Black Swan” and David Fincher‘s “The Social Network.”
Following this morning’s news that “Black Swan” picked up an unprecedented 12 nominations from The Broadcast Film Critics Association, the New York Film Critics Circle (not to be confused with the New York Film Critics Online who waxed “The Social Network” over the weekend) have revealed their winners and “The Social Network” walked away with the two top awards, Best Picture and Best Director, while “Black Swan” earned a sole win for Best Cinematography.
So what does this mean for the Oscars? We have no idea but there are enough pundits out there who read the tarot cards and make their weekly predictions. Full list of winners after the jump. [IndieWire]
