Adam Sandler & Kevin James Are Going To Park Cars Hilariously In ‘Valet Guys’

There is a very simple formula for pitching and selling a Kevin James comedy. Fat guy + blue collar job + hijinks = comedy gold. He’s been a fireman, a mall cop, next summer he’ll be a zookeeper and now, Kevin James along with his fart joke companion Adam Sandler, is set to be a valet guy in the appropriately titled “Valet Guys.”

Sony has made a deal for the pitch from writer Nick Bakay who has a history with Kevin James, producing the long running sitcom “The King Of Queens” and having penned the comedian’s breakout hit, “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.” The concept here isn’t particularly taxing. The film would find James and Sandler playing “veteran valet parking guys at a South Beach hotel who witness a murder and find themselves running for their lives.”

The project will be co-written by James and Bakay and produced by James’ Hey Eddie, Todd Garner’s Broken Road and Sandler’s Happy Madison shingles. Interesting side note: Bakay was the voice of Salem the cat on “Sabrina The Teenage Witch.” Huh.

No word yet on when this is being eyed for production but if it’s anything in the ballpark of the “hilarity” that was “Grown Ups,” we’re staying far, far away. [Deadline]
