“Sorry to Bother You” filmmaker Boots Riley is back with his next feature, and he’s assembled an impressive cast for his sophomore film.

Riley’s next film, which he wrote and will direct and which Neon has boarded to finance and produce, is called “I Love Boosters” and will star Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, LaKeith Stanfield, and Demi Moore.

“I Love Boosters” is about a ring of enterprising boosters (aka shoplifters or equal opportunists), who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven. Additional plot details are being kept under wraps.

Neon hopes to release the film theatrically in the U.S. and is representing sales rights internationally. Principal photography is supposed to begin this fall, and additional casting is underway.

Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett are producing the film on behalf of Ryder Picture Company (RPC) with Savage Rose Films’ Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”). Mike Jackman and Gus Deardoff will serve as executive producers.

Neon is financing the film with Waypoint Entertainment and acquired the worldwide rights.

“I Love Boosters” is just Riley’s second feature after 2018’s “Sorry to Bother You,” which also starred Stanfield. He most recently turned his attention to the small screen with the Amazon series “I’m a Virgo” from last year.

Palmer recently starred in Jordan Peele’s “Nope” and currently is the host of the game show “Password” alongside Jimmy Fallon. She also has a book coming out in November titled “Master of Me.”

Ackie was just seen as the lead in “Blink Twice” from director Zoe Kravitz, and she’ll next appear alongside Robert Pattinson in “Mickey 17” for director Bong Joon-Ho.

“Atlanta” actor Stanfield up next has “Lear Rex” opposite Al Pacino and Jessica Chastain, “Play Dirty” alongside Mark Wahlberg, Dermot Mulroney and Tony Shalhoub, and an adaptation of “El Paso, Elsewhere,” for which he is starring and producing.

Moore made her triumphant return to the big screen in a big way with this year’s “The Substance.” She also recently starred in FX’s “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” and can soon be seen in the upcoming Paramount+ drama “Landman” from Taylor Sheridan.

Riley is repped by WME and Cohen & Gardner. Palmer is repped by 3Arts and Hertz Lichtenstein Young & Polk, LLP. Ackie is repped by CAA, Hamilton Hodell, Range Media Partners, and Peikoff Mahan Law Office. Stanfield is repped by CAA, Stark Management, and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis. Moore is repped by CAA, Untitled, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
