While his big bro Chris Hemsworth launched to worldwide fame thanks to “Thor,” Liam Hemsworth is now ready to shine. “Hunger Games” fans already know he’s gonna melt hearts (or not) as Gale in the upcoming film, and he recently booked a role with the old fogies in “The Expendables 2.” Now he’s stepping out of the franchise world to take the lead of a sci-fi romance all on his own.
Earlier this year, Philip Noyce bailed on Relativity‘s “Hunter Killer” and began to focus on “Timeless” instead, another movie set up at the studio that he had signed on for last year. And now the wheels are firmly in motion as Moviehole reports that Hemsworth has signed on for the leading role in the film.
Penned by Bill Kelly (”Enchanted”), the movie follows a recently married man who loses his wife only to discover that she has left him a fortune. So what does he do? He builds a time machine so he can see her once again and also put to rest an unresolved issue that they had before she died. Geez, talk about a guilt trip from beyond the grave. Frankly, this sounds kind of ridiculous, but maybe there’s something more to the premise? No exact word yet on when this will roll, but probably a safe bet it’s gearing up to start shooting in the near future.
