Joe Strummer Would Not Approve Of Poster & Trailer For Abigail Breslin Drama ‘Janie Jones’

We were only just talking about how talented young actress Abigail Breslin has some real range, not to mention a whole slate of finished and potential projects. Today we see the poster for one of those potential projects, “Janie Jones,” which we first told you about way back in late 2010.

Coming Soon has the poster that pretty much lets you know everything you’d want to about the film, which follows a young girl (Breslin) who’s left with her rocker father (Alessandro Nivola) by her groupie mother (Elisabeth Shue). So yeah, we squeezed all three of those names in there because like the poster, that’s all there really is to it. We have the image of a happy looking young Breslin playing next to her father by what appears to be the side of a river.

The film’s trailer shows that there may be some dramatic father-daughter tension leading up to this happy moment. You know, the kind of family fighting that takes place in all of these “kid gets to know their estranged parent” movies.

The film is directed by David M. Rosenthal, and with a career that seemingly consists mostly of straight-to-video comedies, it’s a wonder why this picture didn’t go the same route. “Janie Jones” is receiving some sort of release on October 28, probably right before its imminent debut on DVD stands everywhere. We’re interested in some of Breslin’s upcoming projects, but this one just looks like your standard inspirational drama.
