Also Suggests U.S. Version Will Be Cut
So, how low rent and cheaply shocking will “The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)” be? Judging by the Australian trailer for the film, which features a bunch of bad actors pretending to be scared by the film, director Tom Six seems to have given up.
The Dutch director who previously helmed a few movies nobody cared about, suddenly found some version of notoriety in 2009 with “The Human Centipede (First Sequence),” the notorious ass-to-mouth horror film that seemed kind of daring and new at the time. But like a fat kid with a chocolate bar, Six seemed desperate to cling on to his newfound fame and immediately started talking trilogy. So here we have “The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)” and distributors Monster Pictures have given the film a ridiculously low-rent teaser trailer that gets a bunch of aspiring actors to sit in a truck pretending to watch Six’s film and act scared. We’re not sure why this is the marketing angle they’re taking here, but it appears not much effort is being put forth for a movie that isn’t that anticipated anyway. Morever, the Aussie version plays up the film’s effective ban in the U.K. (does anyone care?) and suggests that it has been cut for its U.S. release. Finally, it poses the question “Has horror gone too far?” with a baby crying in the background, which might mean Six has been watching “A Serbian Film” to get ideas.
Anyway, Six will get to revel in the dimming spotlight once again when the film hits on October 7th via IFC Midnight. [via STYD]
