Well, if it worked once, why not see if it’ll work again? Chazz Palminteri is the latest to join the increasingly oddball cast of “Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father” playing a character he already portrayed ten years ago.
Joining John Travolta, Al Pacino, Ben Foster and Kelly Preston, Palminteri will portray mob boss Paul Castellano, a part you might have already seen him play in the 2001 TNT movie “Boss Of Bosses.” With a script by James Toback, the film will chronicle John Gotti Jr.‘s life in the mob, the gang world his father played in and how he eventually got out. Castellano, aka Big Paulie, was the ruthless head of the Gambino crime family who came up against the rising ambitions of Gotti Sr, who turned his fellow mobsters against him and eventually ordered the hit that took the crime boss’ life.
Still no word on who will take the role of Angelo Ruggiero, left vacant by Joe Pesci who is suing the production, as it continues to roll forward with Barry Levinson directing and a January start date lined up. [Variety]
