In just a couple of days, “Transformers: The Dark Of The Moon” will swoop over multiplexes worldwide delivering loads of robot smashing fury, but for us, the most anticipated moment of that film will happen even before it begins. The trailer for the franchise sequel/refresh of sorts “Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol” will be unveiled in front of the Michael Bay film, and if this (curiously well shot) bootleg of the French version is anything to go by, it looks pretty damn great.
Even after a couple lacklustre sequels, ‘Ghost Protocol’ is stacked with reasons why we’re eager to check this out. First off, Brad Bird is making is live action feature directing debut after wowing critics and audiences with “The Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles” and “Ratatouille.” And Tom Cruise has surrounded himself with a knockout cast including Jeremy Renner (looking right at home here) who might take over the franchise along with Paula Patton, Josh Holloway, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg as the good guys, with Michael Nyqvist, Anil Kapoor, Lea Seydoux and Vladimir Mashkov (”Behind Enemy Lines”) as the villains. If all that isn’t enough, some of sequences in the film have been shot in IMAX.
“Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol” will hit theaters on December 16th, 2011. Check out the leaked version below before it gets yanked; a nice, crispy HD English version is expected to land very, very soon. [Whiteblog]
