We’ve already seen the plethora of pictures of Michelle Williamslooking the part in “My Week With Marilyn,” but the question now is, can she act the part as well? And if these newly released clips from the movie are anything to go by, the actress has that nailed down as well.
These are simple looks at the film, each less than a minute long. The first has Marilyn singing and seductively bathing in the bathtub, while her young English assistant Colin Clark watches, clearly smitten, while the second showcases her performing a less showy, more seductive version of “Heat Wave” than the one she delivered in “It’s No Business Like Show Business.” Williams effectively captures the innocent sexuality Monroe projected, and her wriggly stage persona that was coupled with a knowing confidence about just how to use her looks to her advantage.
