While “Tron: Legacy” wasn’t quite the blockbuster franchise starter Disney was hoping for — though with its international haul and merchandising the film should end up in the black — it’s not a surprise the Mouse House was preparing for a sequel (and they’ve already started work on an animated spinoff, “Tron: Uprising” to hit the small screen next year).
Movieline has dug up “Tron: The Next Day,” an extra feature on the forthcoming “Tron: Legacy” DVD and BluRay that is an epilogue of sorts to the film that would bridge to a potential sequel. The ten-minute short centers around an unfortunately named hacker Zack Attack (we guess no one involved with ‘Tron’ watched “Saved By The Bell“) and the rising cult of Flynn Lives, as well as the consequences of Sam taking the reigns of Encom. If you liked the film, this video is probably worth watching on your next coffee break.
UPDATE: It looks like Disney has come down on whoever uploaded the video and it’s no longer available. But if you missed it, the wait won’t be long to catch the epilogue on the DVD, “Tron: Legacy” hits shelves in just a few weeks on April 5th.
