Julianne Moore To Play Sarah Palin In Jay Roach’s HBO Drama ‘Game Change’

It looks like Tina Fey doesn’t have the sole lock on portraying one of the most embarrassing political figures in recent memory.

THR reports that four-time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore is going to tap into her inner hockey mom, taking on the role of Sarah Palin in Jay Roach‘s “Game Change” for HBO. Based on the book “Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin and the Race of a Lifetime,” by John Heileman, of New York Magazine, and Mark Halperin, of Time Magazine, and adapted by Danny Strong (“Recount“), the film will tackle the 2008 presidential election, which had more than its fair share of high drama and eclectic characters—Bill Clinton, John McCain, the now disgraced John Edwards, Sarah Palin and of course, Barack Obama.

This is some great material and if the casting continues in this direction — inspired casting, with top shelf thesps — this is going to be one to keep our eyes glued on. No word yet on when it will lens, but with Moore taking on “Another Bullshit Night In Suck City” next month, “Game Change” probably still has a month or two to go.
